Disguise
*Experiment 2
Below is my second experiment i decided that i would take influence from Brno Del Zou work at first i took these pictures of the people making them turn anti clockwise for each image, i thought this would work well because then i could edit the images and put them together for my final piece in this unit. I decided to make the images close up so that you can just see there faces and not there body's.The reason why i decided to make the people anti clockwise in the images is because i can capture all of the angles of there faces this will give the images a better effect at presentation. The only thing i don't like about these images is that *Experiment 2 Below is my second experiment i decided that i would take influence from Brno Del Zou work at first i took these pictures of the people making them turn anti clockwise for each image, i thought this would work well because then i could edit the images and put them together for my final piece in this unit. I will take portraits of two models to have a range of images. |
Inge Morath Inge Morath was an Austrian born photographer born in may 27th 1923 she was part of the magnum photo agency founded by top photographers in paris. Her exhibitions were very famous back in her career years long before she died in 2002. in the 1980s and 1990s she decided to do her own independent In this image you can see these 2 classy woman, from the bottom you can see posh expensive high heels then working its way up you see there thin legs and 2 vintage dress they are wearing, the woman behind the first one is also holding a cigarette in my opinion this goes well with her body pressed up then the other woman on her mask has her mouth wide open this also matches how her body is and its position. from the bottom to the top we see how classy these woman are then at the top we see there funny expressions the "disguise" in this photo is the mask they are using to cover up there sophistication and class Saul Steinberg He was born in june 1914 and died in 1999, during his time as a photographer he was very famous for his role as the new yorker and his work for that, he was involved in the magazine the bertolda. He is mostly well known for his work project using the technique "disguise" In the image next to this text there is a tanned woman on the beach with a plastic bag over her head from her body we see a skinny pretty body with a nice tan as we get to the top where her face we see that the face is covered with a paper bag the facial expression is a very model looking expression this shows how it matches her body because her face is looking very model type and that is also how her bodys position is at. in the background she is at an empty beach the colour of the image is black and white the shining of the sun brings out the black and white and it makes it hard to tell weather its colour or black and white. We can also see the angle of what the image is at we see it is at a straight square angle of the camera. WWW In these 5 images i have chosen to evaluate i think they are the best ones i could of chosen because of how i have used my imagination, i used different backgrounds as well as props, i wanted to make sure each photo stood out i did this by using a few different props, in the first photo i wanted it to stand out and show a normal lady at work with her books but i added a variety of colour. What Didn't go well I think i didn't use enough focus on the camera because some of the images are quite blurred, next time i should concentrate on making sure the camera is on focus and my hands are still. For one of my final pieces i am doing fragments, i like this style of photography because of how creative it is and how i can expand my thoughts and imagination, i was inspired to do fragments for one of my final pieces because of some of the pictures i saw and how creative they are, for example here are some pictures i liked by other artists. i like the first photo because it has captured the different angles Brno Del Zou Brno Del Zou is a french photographer, most of his photography work is about faces, and rearranging them in one portrait. I like the way he makes his portraits black and white. I also like the way he has came up with an idea to combine facial features like eyes, noses, hair, and lips. the artist has also influenced me to be inspired by his work for my final piece. |
I did another set of images and focused on close up's of the face and facial features, so that I could create a new disguised portrait out of the many different features. I took a selection of photographs from students in my school and tried to take just their facial features.
Out of the many portraits which I took I thought that the one with this student would be the most successful because I had taken most of his features close up and also they were also in focus. I also wanted to make them black and white as the artist had done. So after I had edited them in I-photo, changing the contrast, the highlight and the exposure because it was quite dark. I decided to experiment by arranging them in a collage like fashion.
Final Pieces
Final Evaluation
After making them black and white I experimented with changing the contrast, highlights and colours so that I would get a whole range of black, whites and greys. I was inspired by Brno Del Zou's piece of work but did not want it to look exactly like , I then printed the images in black and white and began to start arranging them in the way I thought would be best. I arranged them in order I then started to mount the images on to bits of foam board and cardboard to put them a level up from the rest of the images. I decided to put them in an odd way because i thought it would work better that way and make the final piece look more interesting and make the portrait look very 'disguised'.
I decided to take the images from different angles, after doing this i then went onto the i-photo editor and started to give the images some effects like changing the tones, warmth, contrast and exposures and black and white after doing that i then printed the images of and debated to my self as to what angles and places i could put the images on i wanted to try and capture the positions of the faces in a odd way and i think i managed to accomplish this. I like how the different features of the face have been arranged different orders as to what a a normal face would be like. The composition of my final pieces are slightly put into different areas of the board.
I like the way on my second final outcome how the side of the final piece has a very light tone, what i don't like about this final piece however is that i wished i had focused the camera more. When i started to develop my ideas for my final outcomes i looked at other artists work, how they had carried out there portraits and how they made the work original and odd i also started to look other elements of there pictures how they decided to use people for there portraits. Another idea that had come to my mind was that how all my other portraits had too many effects to it and i wanted to just focus on a single image and try to cultivate it into more than just a photo i think i did this because my portrait had came out looking like the images had been taken close up and the images had been placed on the board carefully and persiselelly.
